Auditing is a fundamental aspect of effective safeguarding. There are significant risks for organisations who have ineffective safeguarding policies and arrangements.
We understand that the audit process and the management or overseeing of safeguarding can be complex and hard to navigate at times.
We’re here to help!
The benefits of implementing an audit cycle can include:
Compliance- failure to be compliant within your own industry or sector can have a significant negative impact on your organisation and the people in it. You can identify current and potential risks that can enable you to act and avoid legal and reputational consequences. By conducting an audit, it can support your organisation with ensuring compliance. This may also include funding requirements and bidding for potential new contracts.
Duty of care- if not fully recognising your duty of care when working with children and/or adults sometimes with complex needs, an audit can support your organisation to identify and gaps or challenges in your existing practices and to then take the necessary steps to address them.
Stakeholder confidence- building trust and confidence among your stakeholders, including customers, employees, and the community at large shows that you take the issue of safeguarding seriously and are actively working to protect people at risk.
Improvement and planning- Audits provide you with an opportunity to review and enhance your safeguarding arrangements. They allow you to identify best practices and make necessary improvements to ensure the safety and well-being of the stakeholders that are involved with your organisation.
